MEET CIENNA ~ Student Midwife Apprentice

I am from the Big Sky area of Montana and the oldest of 10 children. I grew up in a loving Christian family where I was homeschooled for most of my early years.
After graduating from high school I knew I wanted to serve in the mission field but desired a practical skill to take with me wherever I go.

I have always been interested in midwifery since my mom had 8 of my siblings with a midwife and graciously allowed me to attend and help during her deliveries. So, desiring to be trained for missions I attend a discipleship training school called Fire & Fragrance with YWAM (Youth With A Mission).

This included a four month outreach where I spent 3 months in India and 1 month in Africa working with a birth clinic that gave care to tribes with no access to medical care.

After Outreach I decided to become a midwifery student through the Global Organization of midwives (GoMidwife). I am becoming a midwife to tell women where the love comes from that they experience at birth and that the Lord feels the same way about us when we come into relationship with him.

I began academics in September, 2014 and clinicals in January, 2016. I am here in Oklahoma as an apprentice with the goal of completing the clinical portion of my training. I am stoked to be here and humbled by the opportunity to assist with your delivery and look forward to supporting you in any way. I can’t wait to see what this year brings!
