MEET ANNABELLE ~ Student Midwife Apprentice

I am from a Christian home in Louisville, KY.  I am the oldest of six children and was homeschooled for most of my school years.

After I graduated high school I went to Colorado for a discipleship training school with YWAM (Youth With A Mission).  This included a three month lecture phase in Denver and then a two month outreach in Costa Rica.  It was during this school that I came across midwifery for the first time.  I loved how it was all about relationship, health, servanthood, and the natural design that God intended for birth.

Throughout my life I have had health issues that have taught me a lot about health and nutrition and have showed me how God designed our bodies to work and heal.  I learned that our bodies are directly linked to our minds which both affect the soul and all play vital roles in wellness.  I also knew that I wanted to be a missionary and would like to have a practical skill to take with me wherever I end up.

So, after lots of prayers and confirmations, I went to Kona, HI to attend a nine month academic program, Go Midwife Midwifery School, also through YWAM.  Between learning all I could about the miracle of birth with daily classroom hours, and attending a few births as well, I quickly became passionate about midwifery.

Now I am here in Oklahoma as an apprentice in order to learn and complete the clinical aspects of my training, and am honored for the opportunity to attend and assist with your delivery.  I look forward to serving you in whatever ways you feel comfortable with.  I am excited to continue this journey!
